OMAR BASAAD

To OMAR BASAAD, that is anything but the typical cliché. His aspirations in the music industry stretch from there onwards; towards nothing but [the beat]. Ever since he was a kid, he was moved by how plain strings on a guitar can create great music that thrills the ears. His fascinations then led him from simply playing the guitar, to actually experimenting on his very own beat machine. With that as his muse, he managed to introduce himself to the world of.... Music!

Set in motion, was his journey with music. Passionately, he sought after developing his talents and polishing his skills starting at the age of only fifteen. And so, his next stop was Turkey, where he studied sound engineering. With no better place to be, Omar found himself in the perfect time and space to live his dreams. Not only has Turkey offered him his desired major, but it also gave him a fruitful culture that has touches of both European and Arabic cultures. There, as he progressed, his musical appeal directed him towards many industry professionals that helped twist what once was his fantasy into what is now his... calling.

Without a doubt, 2008 was a big year for Omar. Omar engaged the opportunity to work with the legendary Turkish artist, Tarkan, along with the renowned and internationally known DJ, Tiesto. “In Turkey, if you get in touch with Tarkan, that means you have reached the top.”

Trial and error? No, that is not so much the way he rolls. He prefers to follow his instincts with every track he produces. Mixing and matching vocals and melodies is his specialty. He especially focuses on adding Arabic vocals onto international house music rather than what has been commonly done over the years worldwide, and that is mixing them together the other way around.

Not only has he worked with Tarkan, but he also has had the chance to work with artists such as the Egyptian artist Adil Fatah Al-Gireni and Saudi artist Ayzee. Many of his tracks have been made public on his channel on YouTube, however, his single “To The Beat [Future] featuring Ayzee” successfully made it all the way to iTunes as of December 2010.
